I've Been Tagged!

I was tagged about a week ago by Miranda over at Keeper of the Cheerios . I'm new to this whole Tagging thing so lets hope I do this correctly. I believe the rules are as follows:

*Share 7 facts about yourself on your Blog, some random, some weird.
*Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
*Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their Blog.

Here are my 7 things.

1. I could spend hours in the woods picking wild blue berries, raspberries and blackberries. When my children come with I only get an hour here or there.

2. I love 'Zingers', though they are probably as healthy as 'Twinkies'. I don't buy them very often (once or twice a year) since I tend to eat a box all by myself in 24 hours.

3. I like snakes.

4. "Precious Moments" figurines and other related items freak me out! It has something to do with the eyes. They give me the heebeegeebees!!!!

5. I'm reading three books right now. The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn, Momfulness by Denise Roy and Club Dead by Charlaine Harris. Multi-tasking at it's finest!

6. I've donated my hair 3 times to Locks of Love. (A total of 3 feet.)

7. The following are my siblings and my first names; Tara, Misty, Skye, Cherish, Summer, Aurora, Cody, and Tawnie. Whew. Can you guess which is mine? :)

North Carolina New Beginings
Blue Berries & Peanut Butter
The Trench Foot
Summer's Nook
Your Impact Matters

Yes, I know I'm 2 shy but I'm still making friends. (Can I add them on later?)

Olympic Dreams

Rubes, Teo and I were watching the Women's Olympic Gymnastics on T.V. the other day. Rubes has never really seen any gymnastics before so she was glued to the tube and full of questions. Teo mean while was stomping and jumping around the living room. After the floor exercises I went to the kitchen to finish washing dishes. Here's the conversation that followed;

Rubes: "Mom, There's a girl running real fast and, and jumping over a box thing and twirling in the air! You've got to see this..."

Me: "That would be called a vault. Pretty cool, huh."

Rubes: "Mom, Can you do that?"

Me: (Smiling) "No, but Auntie Summer and Auntie Tawnie can."

Rubes: "Why?"

Me: "Well, They have to train really hard and it takes a lot of time."

Rubes: "Maybe when you're older"

Ah, the undying faith in my abilities. I tried not to laugh and didn't have the heart to tell her it was to late for me. 'Gymnast' is something I have never been nor ever wanted to be. Still it was nice to think my daughter has Olympic dreams for me. I bet I could be a metal contender in the 'Kitchen Dancing' arena.

Army Ranger in the Family

My Dad and my two brothers, Cody & Skye, at Fort Benning, GA. for Cody's Army Ranger School graduation. Cody is a Sergeant currently assigned as a sniper team leader with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY. He's now undergoing Army Airborne School also at Fort Benning and scheduled to finish end of the this month. This from the kid who was motivationaly challenged in High School and quite the clown! To say I'm proud would be an understatement. My little Bro has found his calling and now we've a Ranger in the family!!!

I Think I Lost 4 Days of My Life.

I got a little carried away this week. Bloggy Carnival. I was a virgin of the Carnival and am now so definitely not. I was like an addict, I couldn't stop, I went to almost every site! And I wasn't just entering the giveaways! I was subscribing, reading posts and commenting. My children couldn't understand why mommy was at the "pewter" so much, why they could watch TV in the middle of the day and why I was still so tired the next day. I should point out that I still finished all cleaning of the church, library story hour, grocery shopping, laundry, and bath time for the kids. (We did eat regular meals, too.) Thing is every other available minute and into the night I was at the Carnival. Reminds me of when I was young and every Thanksgiving I'd over eat, feel sickly and pass out. I was 27 when I finally learned restraint for Turkey Day! Will it take 27 Carnivals to not feel like poo after 4 days of Giveaway madness? That's not saying it wasn't fun.

Here's my list of Positives from Bloggy Carnival:
1. My typing has improved.
2. I've learned tips to improve my Blog.
3. I'm subscribed to some sites I think I'll really enjoy!
4. Viewing many Esty sites has given me the desire and drive to pursue opening my own.
5. I may win some free stuff!!!!!!
