Ode to Big Kenny!

About a month ago Rubes and Teo received a large box in the mail. Now we say "Thanks" through song. Ode to Big Kenny! (If I were to call to say thanks I would really sing.) O' Big Kenny, who sports the Biker Look. O' Big Kenny, he sent us lots of books.
O' Big Kenny, who takes my sister to ZZ Top. O' Big Kenny, your generosity never stops.
O' Big Kenny, one of few who reads my blog. O' Big Kenny, loved by us and our dog!
Yay! Big Kenny! Yay!

Thanks, we've been enjoying all the books. (The card is in the mail!)

Farewell Fall

I took these photos with the new camera a few weeks ago when the weather turned warm for a second. The last bits of Autumn still hanging on. I was playing with some of the special features on my Nikon Coolpix S550. In particular the Macro Mode which lets me take photos as close as 3.9 inches! I also spent some time taking photos of my face. That's not as easy as it sounds. Nor very flattering to be honest. I do however enjoy these. We have snow again today. Winter is here. Milkweed pod with escaping seeds. Rubes wanted to plant them in our yard. Hmmmm.Rich end of fall colors from 3 inches away! I love these jewel tones... maroon and burnt orange.

Black berry bushes. Alas no more berries. Farwell Fall, I'll miss you.

Seriously People...

I wonder about people sometimes. Not so much why they do the things they do but rather where they choose to do them. I'm talking about fingernails and toenails. We all have to trim them, yes, but where we do that should be done with some thought. I strongly believe one should not trim them during a church service and then leave them behind! First off, I may very well be the one cleaning up said nails. Yick. Secondly, you're supposed to be listening to the sermon. Save your soul from hell, O.K.? In case you're wondering it's fingernails in winter and toenails come spring. That's how I know the general public believes it's warm enough to wear sandals to church. They leave their toenails there. Seriously people...

My Pastor suggested I come up with a Church Cleaner's 10 Commandments for Parishoners.

Commandment #1
Thou shall not trim fingernails or toenails in the Church. Ever.
It's gross.

Where 'O Where Are You Tonight....

Transition time. I've been MIA for a while and it's because I've started working again. I'm not going to say much about the "work" since it involves people and there's always privacy issues with people. I will tell you that I'm working a graveyard shift from 11pm-7am. I'm keeping odd hours. On the up side I'm still free to spend time with the family and most daily activities. The schedule is 3 on, 3 off, repeat and scheduled a month in advance. So far it's OK. I've a sleep schedule since the Hubby is home to watch the kids and stick to it, straying only a little when I've nights off. I have to say the first few nights up at home I couldn't think of anything to do! It's been quite some time since I've had 8 hours all by myself. My brain completely went blank so I read. (Which made me tired.) Now I have sewing projects and blog posts spinning in my head, so we'll see. Oh, I now have a digital camera so there should be more photos in the future. I simply have to read the manual and figure out how to use it. Technically challenged, remember? I'll leave you with this lyric from a country song I heard at around 3:30am this morning...."I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane."
